Gatefold Card

Hello Everyone!

The other night I decided I was just sick of making plain old cards and decided to do something different, something that I've never done before! Although I'm sure alot of you have made them, gatefold cards were new to me, love them!! I have a few more card styles spinning in my head now as well!  Ok, no more waiting, here is the cute little gatefold card I made!

First I made my card base. I took the standard 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (8 1/2 x 11 cut in half) piece of cardstock scored and folded each side in at 2 1/8" to create my gatefold card base.

Then I added a background layer. I got this green plaid from a Martha Stewart stack.

I went ahead and did the same thing to the inside of the sides and put a solid white piece in the center of the card where I can write my note to the person who will receive this card.

I decided that I wanted to put an Owl on the front of the card. I have never used ANY of my owl cricut images, so I thought I would just make this card completely out of things I have never done before. So I laid out all the pieces of my owl (from Create a Critter) on my Gypsy so I knew exactly what I needed. I LOVE my Gypsy!! Here is what it looked like on my Gypsy mat.

Love how I know exactly where to lay out my paper and know where things will cut!!!  Honestly, if you are thinking about getting a gyspsy but youre just not quite sure (like I was), DO IT!!!!  It rocks!!

Here is a picture of the final product. I decided not to add a sentiment at this time. I'm hoping to get some cute "pun" stamps, and I'm not sure what I will use this card for yet, so I decided to leave it blank until I find either a use for it, or a good sentiment stamp!!

Have a fabulous day!!

My 1st Gypsy Project!

Hi Everyone!

Today I wanted to share the first project that I made with my Gypsy. Boy do I LOVE this thing!!! I'm also LOVING my new ATG 714!! It rocks!!  But, back to the gypsy project. I have a Boston Terrier and love the 1st puppy on Create a Critter, because it looks like him!

So this is my puppy, his name is Remington, aka Remi.

Here is the card laid out on my Gypsy. Everything was cut at 5".

Everything cut out on the mat!! I LOVE my Gypsy, so much paper saved bc I know exactly how big of a piece I need!!!

Here is the front of the card! I love the googly eyes! The stamp is from My Pink Stamper Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set.

Here is the inside, complete with Remi's signature!

Have a great week everyone!!

The box above is for my fiances mom. She has 3 boys, so I made each "layer" about each of her sons.

This one was for my mom. No rhyme or reason to the order for hers, I just put lots of pictures of our family!

As always feel free to leave comments and let me know what you think!

My Pink Stamper Challenge

Hello everyone!

On Friday, Robyn, My Pink Stamper , issued a color challenge over on her blog. The challenge was to make something using brown, green, and yellow. I made this card for some of our friends who just bought their first house!! I had just gotten the "Just Because" cards cricut cartridge for my birthday, so I was eager to use it!

I finished off the inside of the card by cutting a second background layer to apply to the inside. I hope you like it!

Birthday Cards

Here are a few birthday cards I made recently!!

This cute motorcycle card was for my Mom. I cut the motorcycle at 2"from Going Places and the Biker chick is cut at 3" from Paper Doll Dress Up and Everyday paper dolls. The "chaps", jeans, and boots are the cowboys from paperdoll dressup; hair, shirt, and helmet are from Everyday paper dolls. I ran the card layer through the Diamond Plate Cuttlebug embossing folder.   I love this card, and most importantly, my mom loved it too!!

The card below was a birthday card for one of my Nursing school friends. We also happen to share the same birthday!!  She is going on a Study Abroad type trip to Mexico and had been super excited, so I decided to make her card a little like Mexico!  The sombraro is cut at 3" from Designer's Calendar. Again, I love how it turned out, but she loved it even more!

Hope you like them!

Wedding Invitations!

Today I wanted to share my wedding invitations with you all!  I LOVED making them and I'm SOO happy with how they turned out. People are just starting to get them and I've had several comments so far. My mom, bridesmaids and I took a weekend to make 150 of them!! It was so much fun.
(These pictures are the sample that I made and took the weekend we made them all, it got a little beat up in the process (like the missing bling), the actual ones that went out look much nicer lol.)

The RSVP card, map, lodging info, and registry info went in the pocket on the right side!

Let me know what you think!!!

MPS NSD Challenge #7

My Pink Stampers NSD Challenge #7 was to make a project for your father or a guy in your life, something masculine. I just realized that my Uncle's Birthday is today, so I decided I would do one more challenge! This card was so fast, I was impressed!

What do you think?!?!  Hope he likes it, even if it will be late!

MPS NSD Challenge #11

Challenge 11 on MPS NSD event was to use colors of the rainbow. I felt the urge to cut this cute little popcicle from Doodlecharms, and I made it into a birthday card!

MPS NSD Challenge #6

Challenge #6 on My Pink Stampers NSD event was to make something with a kid or for a kid or using one of the paper doll cartridges. So, I made this graduation card, we have several coming up so I wanted to be ready!!

MPS NSD Challenge #2

My Pink Stampers 2nd NSD challenge was to make a project using your scraps!  This card I made for my fiances Mom for Mother's day... it looks VERY similar to the last card, because it is made entirely from scraps from the card I made for Challenge #1!!!

These challenges are so fun!! I'm loving it!

MPS NSD Challenge #12

I worked 7a-7p on National Scrapbook day, so I am only going to be able to participate in a few of My Pink Stamper's NSD challenges.  :(

I started at the bottom and worked my way up. The last challenge was to use a critter or animal on your project, so I decided to make my mom this cute Mothers Day card!

Hope you like it!
