My First Blog Award!! =D

Melanie from Scrappy Mel was kind enough to give my my first blog award!! I feel very lucky to have been given the Beautiful Blogger Award as I am new to this blogging thing! Melanie has the cutest cards and several great step-by-step picture tutorials that I just love! Go check her out!! Thanks again Melanie!

Now I have to tell you 10 things about myself, which shouldn't be too hard since you don't know much about me yet. We'll kind of let this be your little intro to me :)

1. In 75 days (on June 12th) I will marry my very best friend. We will have been together for 7 years!

2. I have the most spoiled Boston Terrier there ever was, his name is Remington. And I mean spoiled!...like he shares my pillow at night spoiled! I love him!

3. I will graduate from Nursing school in December. I want to go into Pediatrics.

4. I had cancer when I was 2 1/2, leaving me with 1 kidney and tons of inspiration (hence wanting to go into Peds...I've always wanted to be a Peds Oncology nurse)

5. My family is VERY close and it kills me to be 2.5 hours away from them. Seriously we are always together and barely a day goes by that we don't see each other (well before Nursing school anyway)

6. My favorite colors are Pink and Green, also our wedding colors.

7. I am *slightly* addicted to my Cricut Expression (hence the blog title). My fiance calls me a "Cricster" LoL.

8. All of my scrapbook friends live hours away, so I'm a solo scrapper. I always want to attend crops and stuff but feel weird going alone :(

9. I love to scrapbook but rarely seem to like my creations, so this blog is a big step for me... I'm getting much better though! I have all of these ideas but when I sit down to make a page I get "scrappers block."

10. I feel very blessed in life and can't wait to see what the future has in store for us!

Do you feel like you know me yet?!?!

Start of a Mini Album

Good Afternoon Blog Readers!

Today I started working on a motorcycle shaped mini album for my mom's birthday. This is my first mini album, hope it turns out well! Christina from Creations with Christina has been doing a Mini Album Series that inspired me to finally start on this! Thanks Christina!

I wanted to post today to get your opinion on the album. I'm going to use rings to bind the album, but I am not sure where I want to put them. Here is what the album looks like:

I was thinking of putting the rings through the tires, but I'm not sure how I would like it opening like that.  Does anyone have any other suggestions???

Thanks and have a great day!

Attempt at a Masculine Card

Good Afternoon! It's beautiful outside today. I plan on doing some scrapbooking this afternoon. I am making my mom a motorcycle shaped mini album of a motorcycle camping trip we took last summer. Her birthday is April 24th, so I need to get started! Watch for some updates on that... uh oh, now I really have to get on this!

Anyway, I wanted to share an attempt at a masculine card that I made a couple weeks ago. My fiances brother's birthday is on St. Patty's Day, so it's a cross between a St. Pattys Day card and a birthday card. In all honesty, I'm not very fond of it. Even more honestly, it's still sitting in my file of cards. We haven't make it to get a gift card to put it in it since we have been sick for so long. Ooops! I'm thinking that I need to just make a new one...seeing as St. Patty's Day was a while back =P

Ever have those projects that you just don't like??  This is one of those. I like the leprauchan, but that's about it!  What do you think??

Have a fantastic day my blog buddies!

Paisley Card Feature

Today was such a gloomy day, definitely didn't make me feel any better! I did make up my test that I missed today and think it went really well!! I ventured to Archivers to use some coupons that expired today and ended up spending way more money than I intended to!! But it was a pretty good deal. I got a Bazill By the Box set (100 sheets of Bazill textured cardstock), a journaling spot stamp set (I can finish up the Ouch! page now!), and some buy 3 get 3 free cardstock.

Back to the real reason for today's post! I experimented with the card feature on the adorable Paisley cartridge and wanted to share it with you!
Here is the front! I just LOVE this card feature. They are so super cute!

Here is the inside. I double matted the 2 larger sides and added some Primas in the corner for a little decoration. Did I mention that I love these cards?!?

This is the back and shows how the cards close. I think you could make some neat cards using this feature, and they give you lots of room for writing if you have lots to say, or a place to stamp a sentiment/poem.

Hope you like it!!

Single Page 12x12 Layout

Hello again!

I'm feeling a bit better today, the meds are definitely helping!!  I wanted to post a layout that I made recently.

For this layout I used Don Juan for the letters, and my Spots & Dots Cuttlebug folder. I still need to add some journaling in the open space in the center.

I just love how this layout turned out! As always feel free to leave comments/suggestions on my projects or the blog in general. I'm still trying to figure this thing out!!

Have a great day!!

Yes I'm Still Here

Hello Everyone!

I'm still here. As you may know I'm currently in Nursing school. I was busy with tests before Spring Break, then a Spring break full of wedding planning. Then my fiance and I are fortunate enough to have gotten sick over spring break and we have been bumming around since Saturday (Upper Resp Infection, Bronchitis). We both started on some meds today so hopefully we will be feeling better soon!!

Here is a card that I made a couple weeks ago for my best friend's birthday. She was going to Vegas for her birthday so I decided to make a card to hold some extra gambling money. I normally do not like to give money, but I thought it fit this occasion. I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but I used clear photo corners to hold the bill in the card.

How Old? was cut from Lyrical Letters. The dice were drawn with the cricut markers, then cut out...from Designer's Calendar.  I popped them up with Pop Dots. (My fiance informed me that pop dots are my "trade mark." Haha!)

I love comments, so let me know what you think!!

Thank You Card

For Valentine's Day Wyatt surprised me with WAY too much Cricut supplies. I made a little wish list on customcrops.com and the stinker bought ALL of it. This included 3 cricut cartridges: Paisley, Sweet Treats, and Doodlecharms and the My Pink Stamper Stamp sets Everyday OcCasions and Simply Sweet Occasions. When the box arrived I just had to play with them, so I made him a Thank You card.

The frog is from Paisley cricut cartridges, one of the MANY cute images on this cartridge. I seriously love it. The stamp is from My Pink Stampers Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set. I love love love her stamps. They are made to go with the cricut in that they are much smaller sentiments than you normally find. I love it. I was always complaining that my stamps were too big. I can't wait to see her 3rd and 4th sets!

I used my trusty Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder on the frog to give him some texture. I really want the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder for this, but I can't find it anywhere!! As always, the frog is popped up on Pop Dots. Today Wyatt informed me that Pop Dots are my "trademark." How funny, if only he knew about the rest of the bloggers out there. But I'm surprised he noticed how much I use them!

Get Well Card using Wild Card Cricut Cartridge

I made this card for my grandpa when he has his hip replacement last month. I just love Wild Card, it takes the work out of making cards.

I added some Crystal Stickles to the letters and the spots in the bandaid.

Thanks for looking!

Time for a Lay Out

I recently jumped into using divided page protectors along with my traditional 12 x 12 pages. I feel like this is cheating!!  It's amazing how fast pages come together using these. I never intended on using the divided page protectors but Im SOO behind I just had to. Wyatt and I have been together for 6 1/2 years, I have NOTHING done in our book!!!  I made each of us books of our childhood, but not one of us.  Part of the reason I am so behind is that I'm doing pages on things, like Proms, that our in our individual books too. I can't help it, I just want a book of us from the beginning on!  Here is a recent page that I did of our first prom.

I tend to keep my pages pretty simple. The title is from Lyrical Letters Cricut Cartridge and then I just added some bling to the letter and pictures.

The picture above is the other half of the layout using the divided page protector. This one has a 12x2 inch slot, 3 4x6in slots, and 2 6x4 in slots. I just need to add some journaling to the bottom right slot and this will be finished!

1st Birthday Card

I made this card for my nephew Ethyn's 1st birthday. This was a quick card, I actually borrowed one of his mom's cartridges for this one while I was watching him  =P That boy loved watching the Cricut go!!

The party hat was cut from Cuttin Up. The letters at 1 are from Don Juan. I just love the Don Juan font!  I added some stickles to the hat, it just needed something!

I normally don't do much with the inside of my cards (shame on me) but I just had to on this one. I thought it made the card so much better. This cut is also from Don Juan. Enjoy!

Gumball Machine Valentine's Day Card

This card I made for one of my Nursing School classmates' 7 year old son. They were having mystery Valentine's day mail, so I wanted to send him a card. I LOVE how this card turned out. I had no idea what to make for a little boy, but as soon as I saw this gumball machine I knew!

The gumball machine was cut from Sweethearts. I ran the red background through the Cuttlebug using the Spots & Dots embossing folder. The ribbon and stamp have both been in my stash for a while, not sure where they came from! I used Black Diamond Stickles on the machine and Crystal stickles on the gumballs.

I used some Pop Dots on the gumball machine and sentiment for some added dimension.  Did I mention how much I love this card? Hope you do too!

Thank You Card using Everyday Paper Dolls

I made this Thank You card for one of my clinical preceptors. I LOVE the nurse (and just about everything else) on the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.
The Thank You is from Sweethears Cricut Cartridge. I used Peachy Keen Stamps Simple Simons face assortment for her face. For the background I ran my yellow cardstock through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

I hope you like it! Feel free to leave comments and suggestions. Have a great day!
