Just Because Cards Wagon Card

Hi Everyone!!

Robyn, My Pink Stamper, is having a "Think Pink Week" in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. She issued a challenge to make something Pink. My mom had surgery on her shoulder today, so I made her this card using the Just Because Cards Cartridge. Everything is cut at 6 1/4", except for the patterned paper, I think it is 4x6 (I just cut it down a little bit smaller than the card base).

I decided to add the little "You Can Do It" stamp to the wagon. The stamp is from My Pink Stampers Everyday Occassions stamp set.

Have a great day!!!

Wedding Joy Fold Card

Hi Everyone!

Sorry for the lack of blogging lately. Life is just kind of busy with school, work, weddings, and other events to attend. Speaking of which, I took Robyn's challenge to "make something cute" made a really cute card the other night for one of my friends from Nursing school who is getting married Saturday! This was my first attempt at making a Joy Fold card, love how it turned out! Ok I will admit, I always love how it turns out!!

For those of you not familiar with the Joy Fold card, the little heart in the corner keeps the card closed.

This is what the card looks like when it's not slid under the heart. The orange part is what actually opens instead of the normal base! So fun!

All opened up! Don't you just love this fold?!?!  Ok, here are the instructions:
1 piece of cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 8 1/2"--score at 5 1/2"
1 piece of cardstock cut at 3" x 8"-- score at 4"
I make all of my layers 1/4" smaller.
So you open the left part of the base (there's like a half flap), Then you center the 3x8 peice of folded cardstock and glue it down! Super super simple!!!
The scallop design on the front was cut from Lacy Labels at 2 1/2"
The heart that keeps it closed was cut from Sweethearts at 1 1/4"

This is such a fun and easy card to make. I always love doing something different that the traditional folds!
Hope you like it!

Throwback Thursday Challenge with Emma--"Z" fold card

Hi Everyone!

Wanted to share with you this weeks Throwback Thursday Challenge with Emma. Visit her blog Here. This weeks challenge was to go "Old School" and not use the Cricut or any other machines. I thought this challenge was going to be hard because I never made cards before the Cricut, but it was actually fun and pretty easy. I have a wedding to go to today so I made this wedding card with just cardstock and stamps!

I've saw this card fold called an "S" fold, "Z" fold, whatever it is, I love it! So you take an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock. Lay it horizontally on your table. for the high end you measure 5 1/2 and the low end I believe is 3 3/4. Line up your 2 marks and cut it so that it is slanted like this. Love it!

Stamps are a Stampendous Wedding set! Made this card super simple to complete!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!! I'm off to make a wedding explosion box for my friend who is getting married today! I'll post pictures later!

Triangle Tri-fold Card & Throwback Thursday

Hey Everyone!

So I found card style that is new to me and had to play around with it! It's called a Triangle Tri-fold card and I think they are soo neat! I'm also super excited that I get to participate in my first "Throwback Thursday" challenge hosted by Emma over at My Creative Time! Every Thursday Emma hosts this challenge, typically she picks an "older" cartridge for everyone to use, this week though she decided to let everyone choose their own cartridge to use! I decided to use Home Accents because (shhhh, dont tell) I've had it for a while and have maybe used it once or twice. So, without further ado, here is my card!

To make this type of card you simple take a 4"x12" piece of cardstock, score at 4" and 8", then (in the same direction) score the 2 flaps diagonally. So super simple!! I then too a 3 3/4" square and cut in diagonally for the layer on top!

Both stamps are from My Pink Stamper Everday Occassions stamp set!

The butterfly is cut at 3 1/4" from Home Accents, both the blackout and standard features, then I added some stickles to the cutout part!  Patterned paper is from a DCWV Cafe Mediterranean stack.

Hope you like it!

Bachelorette "Bikini" Card

Today I wanted to share a super fun card that I made for a friends Bachelorette party coming up soon. I've saw this idea several places, it's not my own, but I thought it was too cute to pass up. Here is the front:

Using my Gypsy I took 2 5" hearts from Create a Critter Cricut cartridge, flipped one, then welded them together! So super easy. For the "bra" or "bikini" part I cut out 2 extra 5" hearts in the leopard paper and shaped the pieces by hand, not hard at all.  Now, here is the back:

I used the other 5" heart in the leopord paper to design the back. I then decided to add a little "tattoo" using the heart stamp from My Pink Stamper's Simply Sweet Occassions stamp set.  I just love how this card turned out! I think it's super cute!!

Have a fun and safe holiday weekend everyone!!

Wedding Layout using Sweethearts

Hi Everyone!

I made this wedding LO for a friend who is getting married in October. I was a bit sneaky and matched the colors to her wedding invites =P  I used Sweethearts for all of the cuts. "Tying the knot" and "Mr & Mrs" were both cut at 3". The ribbon is cut at 11.55" width wise, I laid this out on my Gypsy and I must say it looked like the ribbon would be much closer to the edges, but I still love how it turned out! I did some stitching with my white Signo gel pen, then added some bling to dress it up a bit!

Hope you are having a great week!  I will be back tomorrow to share a Bachelorette party card, love love love how this one turned out!!!

Bridesmaid/Parents Thank You Cards

Hello Everyone!

Sorry its been SOOO long since I have blogged, but I am getting married 1 WEEK from today!!! So I have been very busy. My Cricut was steaming the other night as I made 10 cards (some duplicates tho, but still). I wanted to share those cards with you. I decided to make special Thank You and Celebrate cards for my bridesmaids, our parents, and I made a surprise card for my groom which I am going to give to the photographer to give to him before the wedding!!  So here they are! I LOVE how they all turned out!!

This one is for my bridesmaids. 3 of the 4 of them scrapbook and I bought them the Forever Young Cricut Cartridge, so I wanted to use it on their card! The ladies are cut at 4", I added some stickles to their hair and shoes. I used my D'Vine swirls Cuttlebug folder on the background and the pink dress.

This one is for our parents. I used the Wedding Solutions Cartridge. The couple is cut at 4 1/4", then I added some bling to the back of the brides dress. Her veil is cut from DCWV Glitter paper.

This one is for my Groom!!  I also used the Wedding solutions folder for the tux and flower. The flower is cut at 1" and the tux is cut at I believe 4." The groom stamp is from a wedding set that I have, For My is my handwriting.

This is for my flowergirl. I got the little basket from Wedding solutions. She loves the Cricut, so I had to make her a card with it. Again, the flower basket was cut at 4" and I added some stickles to the flowers!

I used my FAVORITE My Pink Stamper stamp sets on all of these cards.

I hope you like them all!! I absolutely LOVE how they all turned out! Especially because I wasn't feeling very crafty the day I made these all, but I had to do it then.

It's a busy busy week. Only 5 more days until the wedding!!  We return from our honeymoon on the 22nd, so I won't be having any posts until after that sometime. We are also moving in early July, so Its going to be a crazy busy time for a while! I will have lots of catching up to do with looking at all my blogs!!!

Have a great couple of Weeks!!

Gatefold Card

Hello Everyone!

The other night I decided I was just sick of making plain old cards and decided to do something different, something that I've never done before! Although I'm sure alot of you have made them, gatefold cards were new to me, love them!! I have a few more card styles spinning in my head now as well!  Ok, no more waiting, here is the cute little gatefold card I made!

First I made my card base. I took the standard 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (8 1/2 x 11 cut in half) piece of cardstock scored and folded each side in at 2 1/8" to create my gatefold card base.

Then I added a background layer. I got this green plaid from a Martha Stewart stack.

I went ahead and did the same thing to the inside of the sides and put a solid white piece in the center of the card where I can write my note to the person who will receive this card.

I decided that I wanted to put an Owl on the front of the card. I have never used ANY of my owl cricut images, so I thought I would just make this card completely out of things I have never done before. So I laid out all the pieces of my owl (from Create a Critter) on my Gypsy so I knew exactly what I needed. I LOVE my Gypsy!! Here is what it looked like on my Gypsy mat.

Love how I know exactly where to lay out my paper and know where things will cut!!!  Honestly, if you are thinking about getting a gyspsy but youre just not quite sure (like I was), DO IT!!!!  It rocks!!

Here is a picture of the final product. I decided not to add a sentiment at this time. I'm hoping to get some cute "pun" stamps, and I'm not sure what I will use this card for yet, so I decided to leave it blank until I find either a use for it, or a good sentiment stamp!!

Have a fabulous day!!

Birthday Cards

Here are a few birthday cards I made recently!!

This cute motorcycle card was for my Mom. I cut the motorcycle at 2"from Going Places and the Biker chick is cut at 3" from Paper Doll Dress Up and Everyday paper dolls. The "chaps", jeans, and boots are the cowboys from paperdoll dressup; hair, shirt, and helmet are from Everyday paper dolls. I ran the card layer through the Diamond Plate Cuttlebug embossing folder.   I love this card, and most importantly, my mom loved it too!!

The card below was a birthday card for one of my Nursing school friends. We also happen to share the same birthday!!  She is going on a Study Abroad type trip to Mexico and had been super excited, so I decided to make her card a little like Mexico!  The sombraro is cut at 3" from Designer's Calendar. Again, I love how it turned out, but she loved it even more!

Hope you like them!

Wedding Invitations!

Today I wanted to share my wedding invitations with you all!  I LOVED making them and I'm SOO happy with how they turned out. People are just starting to get them and I've had several comments so far. My mom, bridesmaids and I took a weekend to make 150 of them!! It was so much fun.
(These pictures are the sample that I made and took the weekend we made them all, it got a little beat up in the process (like the missing bling), the actual ones that went out look much nicer lol.)

The RSVP card, map, lodging info, and registry info went in the pocket on the right side!

Let me know what you think!!!
